B. Logistics

Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)
All arriving travelers to Malaysia are required to submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within the three (3) days prior to your scheduled departure date via the following link. I did this at immigration using the free airport wifi; the final form was emailed to me.
In 2024 when I was en route to Indonesia and transiting Malaysia (through KLIA Terminal 2) I had no address in Malaysia, and was told to use the following address on the form:
Transportation No.:   XXxxxx
Accommodation of Stay:  OTHERS
Address (In Malaysia):  KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, TERMINAL 2
Postcode:   43900
City: SEPANG
State: SELANGOR

Road Tolls: I use a Touch ‘n Go card which I bought at a fuel station in 2022. I top it up at fuel stations every time I visit Malaysia. There is more information here: https://tollguru.com/malaysia-toll

Power: Malaysia uses Type G power plugs. Power supply is 240 V at 50 Hz.

Phone and Data: On my most recent trip (2026) I used an eSim bought through Airalo; it used the Maxis network. On previous trips I always bought a Digi sim card on arrival at KLIA; the CelcomDigi sim card is the current option and easily available at KLIA. This detailed post by Sharon Gourlay describes current options (2026).
